UPPER THAMES SBH

The Upper Thames Fours and Pairs Head race took place last sunday with 200 crews taking part, split into morning and afternoon divisions. This allowed many of the crews to double up in different categories in both divisions. Despite the fine conditions there was a strong current which may have had an effect on the overall times between the morning and afternoon divisions.

Henley entered a total of 29 crews in the two divisions and had a successful, winning ten categories and coming second in a further four. There were a further nine categories where Henley were the only crews entered however in one of these Henley's Mens Junior Quad recorded the third fastest time of the day of 9:41minutes, behind Leander, 9:35 and Oxford Brookes, 9:38.

In the morning division Henley had wins in the Mens Open Quad Sculls beating Leander by 2.3 seconds, Mens Junior Double Sculls, Mens Senior 2 Double Sculls, Mens Novice Quad Sculls and Mens Senior 3 Double Sculls. In the afternoon division Henley won Mens Senior 3 Double Sculls, Mens Open Pairs beating Oxford Brookes and Leander A & B crews, Womens Junior Quad Sculls, Womens Junior 16 Double Sculls, Womens Junior 15 Quad Sculls and Womens Junior 14 Double Sculls.
