Maidenhead Jnr Regatta First Regatta Win for
Junior Girls
Henley Rowing Club had a successful day at Maidenhead Junior regatta on last Sunday. The Womens Junior 13 Club entry won against stiff opposition from Tideway scullers (1/3 length) and Headington (a canvass) in the heats beating Maidenhead by 4 lengths in the final.With 10 crews entered in this event, it was an excellent performance and showed great strength of character.This was their first regatta since forming last September. The Womens Junior 13 Beginners of Mary Arnold, Nicole Pownall, Alex Nearchou, Beth Stockham and cox Emily Barr did very well in the heats but lost in the final to a strong Tideways sculler/Clairs Court composite. The boys Junior 14 Quad lost to Sir William Borlaise and Womens Junior 15 Quad to Guildford in a straight final. |
