Junior Inter Regional Regatta

Members of Henley Rowing Club Junior Squad had a superb start to the regatta season contributing significantly to the Thames Up River Regional Team win at the Junior Inter Regional Championships, which took place on Sunday at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham. Rowing conditions were excellent for the day’s events and all of the Club’s juniors involved, won Gold or Silver medals in Grand Finals.

J16 girls Caitlin Bennett, Natalie MacIntosh, Amanda Moore and Hannah Blair took Gold medals in a closely contested coxless 4 final with Caitlin Bennett and Natalie MacIntosh quickly moving on to take another Gold in the pairs event.

Jenny Arnold put in a creditable performance by winning Silver in the J14 single sculls event, finishing only a length and a half behind the winner.

The J15 boys quad consisting of Drew Ford, Peter Wagner, Chris Clark, Simon Jones and cox, Matthew Jones, achieved success in a very closely contested final beating last years adversaries, St. Leonards, from the North of England by just 1 second to win Gold medals.
