As part of a squad of potential Great Britain junior athletes Hannah Smith Willis and Lucy Lewington raced at the Ghent International Regatta. After a disappointing result on Saturday due to equipment failure the girls returned a superb performance on Sunday leading their heat from the start and finishing with two lengths of clear water over the over competitors. Junior events at Ghent are decided on time rather than the result of side by side racing and the German squad crew in the first heat returned a slightly better time than the Henley girls to take the Gold but a Silver for Henley in this quality regatta is an excellent result.
